ProC/C++ segfault just before fork

We have a program which calls fork, When I link the program using 8.0.5 proc libraries, the program seg faults and core dumps right before fork. This does not happen if I link the program using 7.3.4 libraries, this happens on AIX 4.2.1. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
