I am using Oracle 7.0.16.4.1 for Novell Newtare 3.11 On 1 Jan 2000 my oracle decided to quit on me. Now I am not sure if its because of Oracle or Newtare3.1 which is not Y2K compliant.

Here is the steps we do to logon and here is the message I get:

load sqldba
connect internal
startup
ORA-01534 Rollback segment 'Final_Rs' does not exist.

I dont know why suddenly Oracle is looking for that Rollback segment which I never created. So I decided to create a fake rollback segment with the same name. It gave me the following errors:

DBA-00342: unable to complete Internal login
DBA-00302: Not connected to a database
ORA-09243: Error attaching to SGA

I tried loggin in as system/manager and the follwing errors came: ORA-01034: Oracle not available
ORA-09243: Error attaching to SGA

In either case it seems that I cannot connect properly to the Database. Does anybody know what os going on? Is it a Y2K issue? Need to upgrade my Netware? or what?

I would greatly appreciate any sort of help. Thanx,
Moby. Received on Mon Jan 10 2000 - 15:22:45 CET
