You need to add the 'local' variable
On windows clients(95/98/NT) : \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE key: Local value: the default database descriptor as used in tnsnames.ora
On unix clients: LOCAL=the default database descriptor as used in
tnsnames.ora
;export LOCAL
