Oracle Installer Error

I'm getting an error when I run the Oracle Installer. The version that came with Developer 6 (3.2.2.1.1) worked fine, but any newer version gets a Windows illegal operation error that says that OIBKND32.DLL caused a page fault. Several other PCs (same type & software) do not have a problem. Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it?
