Oracle8 on Linux6.0: Relinking PL/SQL executables...?

WHenever I get the stage in the actual installation process when it is "relinking PL/SQL executables" it gets an error and gives me this message:

Error during action "Relinking wrap executable...'.

Command: make-f ins_plsql.mk install <<!

(then a big number of file names, followed by):

/usr/bin/ld: final link failed: No space left on device collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: ** [wrap] ERror 1

does anyone know the problem, and the solution? I know I've got to add memory to the device, but am not sure how.
