I am currently taking developer/2000/dba classes. Having said that I am trying to install oracle 8.0 and developer/2000 2.0 on my computer at home, so I can practice at home. My home pc runs windows 98 with 128 MB Ram and about 6 BG free harddrive space. I have installed both packages(oracle 8.0 and developer/2000 2.0) sucesuffly. I can log on to oracle 8.0 from sql 8.0 but when I open Forms 5.0 and try to connect to my database. I am unable to connect. The log on screen never goes away, and the only way I can get rid of this screen is by ctrl+alt+del. I have also noticed when i installed developer/2000 it put a copy of sql (v 3.3) on my computer. When i had installed oracle 8.0, it installed sql 8.0. Can this be causing a conflict? Or do i need to do something simple like build demo-tables the first time i open forms? As long as I do not connect to database the forms program is happy. One other thing if I go to install demo-tables (start->programs->developer 2000 R 2.0 demo -> install demo database objects The program tries to open sql 3.3 and give me a log on error: ora-03121. Any help will be truly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance. Joet Received on Fri Jun 11 1999 - 18:46:03 CEST
