Problem with Oracle 8.0.4

I have installed demo version of Oracle 8 on Nt. Can any one tell me how can I start database. I tried all passwords but none worked. In oracle 7.3 we have Oracle Navigator through which we can assign passwords role and privileges. In Oracle 8 How can I do that ??
