I would like to do some Pro*C work on my Solaris 5.7 x86 machine against Oracle 8.05. The Oracle installation documentation says Pro*C requires Sunsoft C/C++. I only have gcc and would not prefer not to buy the Sunsoft product.

I have heard that, despite the documentation notes, I can use gcc but may have to change some makefiles or some such.

Has anyone out there in newsgroup-landia done this and can let me know what needs to be done?

Thanks. Received on Sun May 02 1999 - 05:39:22 CEST
