Hello,
I am having trouble connecting to the database when logging into Designer. I have Orace8 Enterprise installed on my laptop running WinNT 4.0 Server Version. When I am connected to my network at work I configured a database alias and used my TCP/IP address to connect no problem. However, when I am not connected to the network, Designer is unable to connect to the database. Should I use SQLNet to configure a new database alias and connect via a different address? What should I put as the TCP/IP address when I create the database alias? Any help is appreciated. Received on Wed Mar 03 1999 - 06:33:18 CET
