Forms4.5 - simple LOV question

I like to create a record-group contains NAME, ID# and attach to LOV triggered from ID# field on the form.

I like to create a record-group contains NAME, ID# and attach to LOV triggered from ID# field on the form.
I like user to type in NAME (alpha) and return ID# (number). I can't return ID# if I put name in the first column. If I put ID# in the first column, user can not type name.....
How's everybody using LOV in this situation????
