Hello,

[Quoted]   Although I have some experience with deploying Forms on OWAS (OAS), I am new to deploying Reports on the Web. I have set up the Reports Cartridge according to the directions in my Oracle documentation, installed the R30MTS as an NT service, and am ready to make a Report I have created available on my Web server. More precisely, I am interested in calling this Report from a Web Form using the RUN_PRODUCT built-in. Before I do so, however, I have a number of questions:

  1. Does it matter under which NT user the R30MTS is started? What are the issues here?
  2. Do I need to create a special Reports listener on my Web server? Does the port number matter?
  3. Do I have available w/Web Forms and Reports all of the options for the RUN_PRODUCT parameters? In particular, can I still run Web Reports w/the SYNCHRONOUS and RUNTIME options?
  4. How must a standard client/server Report be modified in order to deploy it on the Web? What parameters must be passed via the RUN_PRODUCT call, if any? Or can this be done via the Report's Parameter Form?
  5. Where does the Web Forms Runtime Engine look for Web Reports by default (which directory)?
  6. What happens exactly when the Web Forms Runtime Engine interprets the RUN_PRODUCT call?

Although I have looked through the Oracle documentation that I have, I am still in the dark about some of these issues and would appreciate a basic recipe for how to set all of this up. Thanks in advance.

Cary
