Hello:

We are running Oracle Designer 2000 version 2.1

Can anyone offer me any insight into how a person can write a ".DAT" file that can be loaded to generate (1) the elements from which a Process Modeller diagram can be assembled and (2) the entire diagram itself.

For (1), what I want to do is write a program that takes the specs that I need and blasts them into a ".DAT" file that can be Loaded into PM and create the elements from which I would generate process models. Ideally, I would also be able to import the flows.

For (2), just how the diagram is layed out [layoutted? ;)] is not important here; the objective is just to get the elements into the repository so that we can work with them (drag the icons around etc.). A variant on this is answering the question, "How do I copy a diagram from one application (or repository) to another?" So far, I have successfully Unloaded an entire application and loaded it into another repository, but that is not what I want to do.

Thanks for the insight...
