Hopefully this helps..
  I ran into similiar problems on an SGI client machine.
Ensure that the following environment variables are set to a valid local
printer:

PRINTER
ORACLE_PRINTER
TK2_PRINTER

D2K looks for these env. variables first and then goes to the uiprint.txt.
