Form 3 and 4.5

[Quoted] I am converting some forms 3.0 to forms 4.5. Under forms 3.0, I could specify format dd/mm/yyyy for an item under form 3.0 and if we enter 25011998, then the form will return 25/01/1998 automatically. After converting to forms 4.5, without amending anything, if I entered the same string, the returned item is 25/11/0098. Obviously, the first 0 and 9 are used as separator!!
Any suggestion to fix this conversion anomaly. I have about 400 forms and about 1000 dates to fix.
