OCI 8 question

This is my question:
I am doing a program that reads a certain registry and for it it makes so many calls to OCIStmtFetch as the index of the required registry indicates. The problem comes because, in addition, LONG fields exist in the sentence, which also use the OCIStmtFetch function. How I can make not to have to read the LONG fields?
