Hi,

Dev2K's apps based on the Forms Applet are very slow starters. I did some testing in an intranet (not internet). Its took about a minut to start the application but when it ran the performance was acceptable. Another problem is that the application is running in its own window which was launched from the java applet. When you choose another page in the browser the applet simply dies without doing any cleanup (commit or rollback) on your database. You can choose to use good old HTML generated by PL/SQL procedure. I must say its runs quite fast but its no more than HTML output!!! You can choose to build the application with java. Its not the same as the first (forms runtime) option. Indeed java not the fastest language on earth (yet) but its still growing.
Another option is ASP (combination of VB script and HTML) but this one still stinks like HTML.
Nobody can tell you what to do. Choose the right tool based on your needs.
