Hi,

I want to use the denormalization features in Designer/2000 Rel. 1.3.2.

Two tables, DEPT and EMP, are connected as usual. In DEPT, i added a column SUM_SAL in the Data Diagrammer and defined in the 'Validation' tab that it is denormalized from table EMP via the foreign key EMP->DEPT.
I also defined that the column SAL should be summed.

I expected the Forms Generator to enhance my application with automatically generated values in the DCU SUM_SAL.

As you will already suspect, nothing happened. The field in my forms application behaves just like i defined only the column and said nothing about denormalization.

I understand that no triggers will be generated automatically.

Don't tell me to use a secondary usage to *display* the sum, i want it to be calculated and updated/inserted in the table.

Did i forget somthing? Any preference setting?

If the denormalization settings have no effect, why are they included in the Data Diagrammer?

Any help and comments are appreciated.
