I'm not sure what version of Forms you are using, but if it is at least 4.5, then maybe what you should look at is making canvas 2 a 'Stacked' canvas (one of the properties of a canvas; usually it is 'Content').Its kind of hard to explain in words, but basically define canvas 1 to be full size, and of type 'Content'. Define canvas 2 to be smaller, and position it so the fields you want on canvas 1 are still visible when canvas 2 is active. It will automatically be placed on top when you navigate to an item on that canvas. Try it - it really works.If canvas 2 is actually larger than its display area, you can get a horizontal scroll bar in - kind of a split-screen effect. Once I saw this trick, I have used it extensively.
