copying users from one Instance to another

[Quoted] [Quoted] Is it possible to copy passwords from one engine to another?

I've attempted to adjust the passwords in a throw-away instance by manipulating the PASSWORD column in USER$, but this didn't work. I'm sure [Quoted] there's a trick out there somewhere!

Any suggestions?
