Yes -there are two ways, the certified way, and the better way :)
To be certified for support you've got to have Oracle's JDK 1.1.5.15o or 1.1.5.16o - and you can use the appletviewer.
Or, the better way, Use Netscape 4.05, get Sun's Java Activator plugin, and the Oracle JDK (above) - point the Activator at the Oracle JDK, and roll. The main benfit here is you get reports back in either PDF or HTML (depending on how the env var's for the Report server cartridge are set). I'm doing this right now, feel free to write if you have any specific questions.
On a side note, Oracle has licensed the Activator technology from Sun and will be providing an app certified version called JInitiator, alleged to be out in mid-July. Have fun, it's the bleeding edge <G>
