sqlplus Release 3.3.3.0.0 ?

I was wondering if this version of sqlplus can read both versions of aliasing in the tnsnames.ora file.

That is if we can write the alias as SQLnet version 1 and SQLnet version 2.

If so, how is the syntax for SQLnet version 1.
