Hi
If your database is in NO-Archivelog mode, you will only succeed in recovering the datafile or tablespace to current time if the redo to be applied is within the range of your online redo logs. Do this query
select file#, change# from V$recover_file;
if change# > first_change# of your logs, then you can recover your datafile, else depending of what kind of file it is:
Temporary or Index - drop it: alter database datafile 'path/name' offline
drop;
(do this before opening your database)
then do a alter database open. Drop the specific tablespace the datafile
belongs to and recreate it again - however all existing data in the
tablespace is lost.
If it is a system or rollback tablespace - restore entire database (most recent backup)
Hope this will help you - it will depend on your backup procedures.
