NO!

  1. Rumors have it to be dead.
  2. Oracle only will admit to dot releases (i.e. minor bug fixes) until the end of their fiscal year (which by the way ends 1/2 way through calendar year 98)
  3. There are quite a few bugs with it.
  4. I don't like basic (Just a preference, but hey, you asked...)
