One way I have used successfully is to save the spreadsheet as a comma delimited file (.csv), transfer the file to the computer with the Oracle database, then use SQLLOADER to load the data into the database. The Oracle Utilities manual describes how to set up the control file that defines what table to load into and what columns to load.
