The GUI backup tool that comes with Oracle for doing hot or cold backups has an option to use a tape as the storage device. However every time I've tried this, it tells me the tape isn't the right format and asks if I want to format it. If I respond yes, it does some stuff and comes back saying the tape is full. I've tried erasing it with NT first, but the results are the same.
