There are easier ways to access Oracle than through ODBC. Have you had a look at OO4O ? Is is Oracle Objects for OLE. It is extremely simple to use and it comes with all Oracle licences.

I have written a tool with OO4O to use Excel as a front-end to Oracle.

Have a look at http://members.aol.com/gjlinker I called it Oraxcel
