ORA-03121 Error with PO8 and Developer 2000

[Quoted] [Quoted] I installed Personal Oracle 8, then installed Developer 2000 (1.5W) products. Almost all the PO8 products -- including version 8 of SQL*Plus connect to the local database just fine without any connect string. However, all products not included in PO8 cannot connect, and give the ORA-03121 error. Furthermore, I tried setting up a service in Net8 Assistant and got the same error. I even tried using "ODBC:PO8" as a connect string, but this was a bust. I should also mention that I'm on Win95.

Most likely, I've got the software to fix this, but it's the needle in a haystack type of situation. Can someone out there help me? I'd really appreciate it -- and sorry about the cross-posting. Hard to tell where to put connection questions.
