I had the same problem with version 7.3... So, I have to keep 2 Oracle Homes, One for version 7.3 and one for version 7.1.

To run Forms 3.0, I set the environnement to a dummy 7.1 database =

and I use SQL*Net to access the real database on 7.3. =

I guess it should also work with Oracle8.
