?? INSERT VALUES Statement with Date & Time Value??

All,

[Quoted] What is the proper datetime format to insert a date value that contains both date & time??

I've tried the following :

INSERT INTO Names (Name, DOB) VALUES ('Joe', TO_DATE('03/05/1949, 13:05:02', 'MM/DD/IYYY, HH24:MI:SS')) It fails with the error:

 ORA-01820: format code cannot appear in date input format

Please reply!
