TWIMC, I have been contracted to update the hardware/os on a legacy Oracle application running in text mode on an old Interactive Unix system. Not being an Oracle type, I was more than a little surprised to see that both RTP and SQLForms 3.0 break when moved to a later version of Oracle. Hmmm.
In an ideal world, there would be some sort of public domain tool to assist in the migration from SQLForms 3 in text mode to Forms 4.5 in TEXT mode. As the RPT reports are integral to the application, this seems to be an issue as well.
I am aware of the Kumaran tool, and the existence of other solutions, but as the client is a little (huh!) price sensitive -- I'm looking for lower cost alternatives. If anyone could shed some light on this subject, I'd be grateful. (Replies by email would be appreciated).
Sincerely,
Rob.
