Data Query 3.1 and Server 7.3

Has anyone ever tried to use Data Query 3.1 against a 7.3.2 database?
We're currently migrating to 7.3, and we are faced with the possibility that we won't be able to use Data Query. We can't use the current version 4 as it does not have a character mode.
