Designer 1.3.2 and Table Default Values

I have just lodged an interesting support call. I believe I saw an answer to this problem some time ago (year+) on the old oracle news groups.

The problem is the following:

We are trying to use a default value into table columns. Specifically we would like to use the default value from the pseudo columes "USER: or "UID" to populate some creation / maintenance fields.

Oracle say this is a known bug with forms 4.5, and Designer 1.3.2.

We are only interested in the table based default values, as we will have data inputs from multiple sources including Forms.

The default values work fine with constant values, jut not with the pseudo columns: "UID", "USER",...

Any recommendations around this would be welcomed. We are using the following:

Designer/Developer 2000 v1.3.2
RDBMS 7.3 I do not get a chance to review this news group often, so if you could please email the response to either:
