Oracle DBA

Hello,
I am living in New York and I am interested in learning to become an Oracle DBA. Can anyone suggest a school or organization that has a solid teaching reputation?

Am am also interested if anyone has an opinion on how long it takes to be able to take skills from the learning environment to practical employment as a DBA.
