I believe Oracle has some procedures and guidelines for migration. Try at www.oraicle.com.

About, transferring data from RDB to Oracle using ODBC, what is the volume of data (rows and size). As such, when the volume it too much (say 500,000 rows), ODBC is lousy. Look at other options such as SQL*LOADER.
