[Quoted] Yup. For the last 15 years, only DBAs supported and promoted over-expensive and buggy Oracle here in NSW, Australia.

Since 2014 when Oracle decided to "kill the dba", I have not heard a single dba in NSW promote Oracle.

The result?
[Quoted] I have not heard of one single new major account anywhere in NSW since 2014. Au contraire, I heard quite a few who ejected the product in favour of Postgres and MSSQL.

[Quoted] [Quoted] But of course Oracle management will immediately interject and blog and confirm I am a liar and, of course, a "bad dba"...

Oracle's biggest handicap at the moment is Larry. Unlike Gates who left [Quoted] Microslop's steering ages ago so the company could evolve and learn to continue without him. Oracle is tied to Larry's underpants, a huge handicap.

[Quoted] His completely outmoded strategy and incompetent sales and management style is very akin to shooting oneself in the foot. Big time. Then again, he doesn't give a hoot about the company anymore.

I'm so glad I was sensible enough to sell all my Oracle shares and options ages ago! Received on Sun Dec 24 2017 - 11:11:23 CET
