No, they don't - but my suspicion is that those candidates you'd been interviewing were not suitable as senior DBAs.

My question was more 'general' than that, and was prompted by my thoughts concerning the paths people have taken to get wherever they happen to be with Oracle; some have learned in an academic context with little real-world experience; others have worked more in Development environments, and as such are likely equipped with a certain strong skillset; others have worked in a Production environment, and would likely have a slightly different skillset again.

Assuming that a potential candidate did not demonstrate all of the knowledge you would hope, I was curious as to which type of skillset you would consider more important for a new employee... Received on Mon May 01 2006 - 14:35:53 CDT
