These things don't have to be mutually exclusive. Since the position
is a Sr. DBA position (which requires taking over databases with very
little 'training' time), I'd require someone with both experience,
theoretical knowledge, eagerness to learn, eagerness to share the
knowledge, being a bit of a hack
