your original question indicated that you have many different queries, each of which used one or two different columns of the table

this seems to indicate that the variety of queries is limited, but each query includes most of the columns

it would be helpful if you could post the table description and the types of queries your are tuning for

also -- posting to a single c.d.o. newsgroup is sufficient (this is probably the appropriate one)
