Re: problem installing 8.1.6 on AIX

a couple questions / things to check:

did you run the rootpre.sh before beginning the installation, and was it successful? I have seen times where the rootpre.sh fails to load the post-wait kernel and you have to recycle the machine to load the new kernel.

check the installActions.log file in the $ORACLE_BASE/oraInventory/logs directory for error or status messages.

check the $ORACLE_HOME/install/make.log to verify if all the executables were compiled successfully.
