Re: recover database from scratch

Lyall, if autobackup is set to on, then the backup media contains the auto backup of the control file. Also, the X that marks the spot should be available in the RMAN configuration. Do you have catalog? If you do, the configuration should be visible, regardless of a non-existing control file.
