Just following back up on this one, it seems the error message was actually incorrect (which is also being addressed), but the main issue was doing the silent install without specifying the absolute path to agent.rsp. The response file location has to be passed like this:
RESPONSE_FILE=c:\temp\agent.rsp
rather than:
RESPONSE_FILE=agent.rsp

So we edited the runconfig.bat file replacing c:\ade\... references with the correct values and reran that portion. That errored complaining about a missing agent.rsp file. Created one based on agentdeploy instructions because those the missing variables matched the ones for that deployment method. However, it is still failing with references to c:\ade\... Any ideas as to what has to be changed to correct this. We are pursuing a SR but so far have not made any progress. Latest error shown is below. Also note the service name - why 11G?
