BEA Systems, Inc. was a company that developed enterprise infrastructure software, until it was purchased by Oracle Corporation in January 2008.

The company's name, BEA, was an acronym based on the first names of the company's three founders: Bill Coleman, Ed Scott and Alfred Chuang.

Products

BEA has three major product lines:

• Tuxedo Transaction Oriented Middleware platform;
• WebLogic J2EE Enterprise Infrastructure platform; and
• AquaLogic Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform.
