The Oracle database has supported updatable views for many versions and the newer versions include join views where certain rules are mean such as the view not being the result of an aggregation. If you do not find hits to useful articles via Internet searches the Oracle documentation is available online at http://technet.oracle.com. Registration is required, but it is free.

The entry of "updatable join views" Oracle in google seemed to produce several potentially useful hits including a tutorial on the use of updatable join views.
