"Maintaining integrity" and "MySQL(tm)" don't generally seem to fit in the same sentence very well. <http://sql-info.de/mysql/gotchas.html>

Perhaps you should suggest that:

  1. Your customers wait until the product includes such necessary features, or that
  2. Your customers look at other alternatives that _do_ provide the necessary features.

If they aren't willing to listen to you, then you've got to wonder if they're the kind of customers you want...
