Lame Question

I know, this is totaly lame, but I'm putting together a recipe database. It's not for a class or anything, I'm helping a family member with a web site. All I'm asking for are some best practices or data modeling ideas. I already have some notions of my own, but would like some other ideas to compare them to.

I did some searches in google and I was suprised that I couldn't find anything. I was sure that there would be examples of other peoples models all over the place.

I would like the resulting DB to be very flexible in terms of being able to use logic to change "number of servings", metric or standard, etc.
