As another poster indicated, the prominent Object-Role style modeling notation is FORML, or ORM for short. It has been implemented in a couple of tools now and there are a bunch of papers on it at Terry's site, www.orm.net. On that site, there are some step-by-step guides to using both the method and the tool.
