Anyway you are working on making an alternative, aren't you? There wouldn't be any use in such a project if SQL was perfect.

Absolutely. I'd never even imagine that networks would be used for sending so much totally uncompressed data ten-fifteen years ago.

It really should be a simple thing to put some simple compression either below, in, or at the top of the HTTP standard.

I was quite sleepy when I wrote the message above; I should have read through it before I sent it.

It is really possible to make incomprehensive SQL statements that are difficult to debug. Anyway, this is a weakness with SQL, not a weakness because it's based on text strings.

In general, a query language based on text strings rather than some binary format (or, eventually, that it easily can be translated between text and binary format) should be easier to debug.

No thanks, I spend enough time understanding my own SQL statements... ;-)
