  1. This is the wrong forum - comp.databases.oracle is no longer in use and has been replaced by comp.databases.oracle.server (as well as cdo.misc, cdo.tools and cdo.marketplace )
  2. When Oracle makes a point release available, there is usually a significant functionality change and that usually means a full install (into a new Oracle Home). I personally do not remember a patch to upgrade a point release in the past twenty years.
  3. You have CDs which almost implies a Support Contract. If so, check your support contract - in many cases the upgrade (including S&H) is free for the asking with a valid contract.
