Has anyone run a pilot or production project marrying an XML accelerator with an Oracle server? How much of a boost has it provided for queries vs. using a software XSLT processor?

What type of content processor did you use? Intel has discontinued the 7280 and 7210 boards, but it spun off a separate company (Tarari) that makes a board-level product.
DataPower takes the separate appliance approach. Instead of a board that plugs into the server, it's an IP-addressible rack mountable box. It has an application coprocessor mode that you can invoke using JAXP.
