There should be no reason whatsoever why not. What is the problem in telling HACMP to do this with one version of Oracle or another? The whole thing is controlled by shell scrips, the only thing you may have to change is that now you start Oracle via SQL*Plus instead of via Server Manager. Talk to IBM, they should be able to tell you how to make the change to the scripts.

It's not an issue if Oracle "supports" it or not. HACMP is an IBM product and that's where you should be looking. Not into Oracle.
